What We Do
McKinCo offer a wide range of services alongside our core business of panel building.
Our aim is to provide a one-stop shop for our customers, having the in-house knowledge, skills and facilities to deliver control & power solutions from conception to commissioning.
Complete System Design
From assisting our customers with concept design and functional design specifications (FDS), through to detailed electrical & mechanical design, we offer the full range of design services.
Once the customer’s requirements have been clarified, McKinCo produce a full CAD design package utilising the latest AutoCAD Electrical design software. Detailed panel wiring diagrams, panel layouts and, if required, single lines and cable schedules are all drawn on a project by project basis.
Our panel design takes into account heat rise calculations and panel loading to ensure failures are avoided in the field.
Panel Manufacture
At McKinCo we pride ourselves on manufacturing top quality panels. Our team is made up of highly experienced panel wireman who pride themselves on producing a well-built product customised to the customer’s requirements.
Our Control Panels, Motor Control Centres and LV Switchboards are all built in our workshop in Laindon, Essex using high quality components and are laid out to not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also ergonomically to aid both installers and operators on site.
Once built our panels are fully functionally tested prior to despatch. Customer witness testing is available on request.
Software Development & Commissioning
As a system integrator we specialise in providing software solutions utilising a wide range of software platforms. Our main platforms are Siemens and Allen Bradley, but we can offer others such as Unitronics, Weintek, Mitsubishi, Schneider, etc on request.
We specialise in providing solutions combining PLCs alongside HMIs to offer control systems maximising functionality with a user-friendly interface.
All our software code is written and developed in-house.
We also offer software commissioning services once the hardware has been installed on site to ensure a fully functioning product.
Alternatively, if you have software in the field that requires modification, McKinCo can review and modify code to suit your requirements.
Remote Support
McKinCo can offer remote support for control systems in the field, to assist with troubleshooting in the case of problems on site, or to carry out system modifications should they be required.
Installing a suitable industrial internet (IIoT) data gateway alongside the PLC/HMI during build can offer significant cost savings should issues be encountered on site, by removing the travel time and costs associated with sending out an engineer.
In addition, the added benefit of having this remote support on critical sites is invaluable as it could potentially reduce downtime that the customer can ill afford.
Control System Maintenance
Legacy System Upgrades
As controls systems in the field reach the end of their product lifecycle, it may be necessary to upgrade and/or replace those systems, to mitigate risk in the event of a product failure. For instance, if an old processor fails and no spares are available due to the processor having been discontinued, there is real potential for a prolonged shutdown until the system can be replaced.
To help customers avoid such issues, McKinCo can survey your system in order to recommend & quote for the works required to update the equipment.
Your system can then be upgraded to a fully supported control package in a timely manner.
